I want to print various labels, etc but use my own art to insert and not use a predesigned template from Avery...how do I do that?

You can create individual labels by formatting the the downloadable templates or by using Avery design software. Format and print only the labels you want. Add custom designs through the Insert or Add menu options to create unique projects to meet your needs.
