Question

item # 5567, hanging file tabs. How can anyone use it if it won't go landscape?

I downloaded it and cannot for the life of me get it to go to landscape mode so a person can print the tabs on the computer/printer.

I actually first do a mail merge of data so for me it isn't so bad. But this is not at all an elegant fix. And there are no instructions whatsoever for the user. Which is such a shame because I hate hanging folder tabs and these just make my files look so nice and neat (I have to create 90 or so folders per year on my job).

Since you are unable to change the mode to landscape, the answer lies in changing the 'text direction" of the data on your tabs. You will need to play with this. But first change the text direction in Word so the text is facing you and you can type it normally. Then change the text direction so it is 90 degrees clockwise and on it's side as it were. I find that using Arial font set at 8 points fits the text that I need so that it's readable. You will also need to play with the alignment. I was using a bottom alignment but it's too close to the edge and I need to play with this for future uses. I hope this screen shot is clear and illustrates what I'm trying to explain.

The orientation of the text box can be changed to be in landscape mode. Select the text box and change the orientation through the Format menu options and rotate the text box until its in landscape.

Question

How do I make a second page and so on?

When you create a new document with this template the first page works very well. Once the initial page is full there is not way to create a second page with the same formatting.

Just rename the first page then you can use it as your second page. For example First Page is File Folders for Tax years 2000 thru 2008. When you finish printing save the folders (file) then re-name the folders (file) Tax years 2009 thru 2016. Then you can go in and make your changes with all the tabs and everything set up.

I'm sure this isn't the proper way but it works!

To add a page to your template, position the cursor on the outside of the last label on the bottom right of the page and press Enter.

Well, forget the question I got the answer myself. The next day I went in to try to open it again and it worked so I saved it to my hard drive this time. Thanks anyway.

For best results we recommend using Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. Format and design one label or card and apply the design to the rest of the page through the Sheet Navigator. If you are not familiar with the software here is the link to the software demo http://www.avery.com/avery/en_US/De....

Question

Is there a way to autofill the numbers as you add pages?

For example, second page tabs would be Tab 10, Tab 11, through Tab 18 and so on. Can this be done without having to manually type them in?
