If you have trouble downloading, send an email to templates@averydennison.com and put the product number in the subject line. You'll get a blank template sent to you. Or try Avery Design & Print Online at avery.com/print. No download is required.

You can absolutely use Avery labels without using an Avery template download. If you are working in Microsoft Windows, just click on tools, click letters & mailings, click envelopes & labels. A box will open and click the tab at the top labeled as "Labels". Now you are going to click options and find whatever label that you are using - I tend to use a lot of 5160. Enter your information and make the radio button is clicked that says "print full page of same label". Now just tell it to print and your done. Good luck and hope that helps.

Avery templates are built into hundreds of software programs, including Microsoft® Word, Microsoft® Publisher, Microsoft® Works, Microsoft® Access, Corel® WordPerfect®, The Print Shop, PrintMaster and more. To find the built-in Avery templates, refer to your program's Help files to search on Avery or labels. Additionally, the label and card templates can be formatted and customized by using Avery Design Pro for Mac and Avery Design & Print Online.

Why won't my typed words show up when printing?

Can you go back and check that the graphics edges are not covering what you want to print? The program is set to print what is on top so if your image is on top of the lettering the lettering will not print.
I tried to reproduce your error several times on my own but could not. - Is it possible you can start over? Or save the product and go back into it to edit?
I hope this helps - if you get any error messages, write those down, so they can be reported.
Good Luck!

If using Microsoft Word go to TOOLS then LETTERS and MAILINGS. Then select Envelopes and Labels. Make sure the label tab is selected and make sure the correct Avery Label is in the right hand corner. After this point there are two ways to do it. You can type in the box and then select print one label or leave it blank and just create a new document. You can then create and copy paste to what labels you want to print.
Hope this helps

Not an answer but an additional comment to my original question. The previous Avery product I used was Personal Creations. Do you still have this product? I don't understand your answer telling me to use the light transfer product. This still leaves a residue on the material around the words that I want to hand embroider.

If you are using a template for the Avery LIGHT fabric transfers, the template needs to print out in reverse. If you are using a template for the Avery DARK fabric transfers, the template prints out as you see it on your screen.

Open Office should work almost exactly like MSOffice does.

If you aren't comfortable with that, try Avery-DesignPro-for-PC:
http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-%26-Software/Software/Avery-DesignPro-for-PC.htm?N=0&refchannel=c042fd03ab30a110VgnVCM1000002118140aRCRD

Working with it in the Avery Online Design and Print would be a good idea too.
