1. Open DesignPro.
2. On the left side of the screen you will find a Search field.
3. Type 5160 in the search field.
4. You will be presented with three choices just below the Search field, any of which is fine.
5. On the main portion of the screen you will see a number of choices. There is an arrow on the right side allowing you to see many other pre formatted choices.
6. Double click on the one you like and modify it to serve your needs.
7. If all the labels on the page are going to be identical then click the All Same button at the top of the page.
8. To print, go all the way to the top of the screen and click the File option and select Print.
9. For additional help questions you can click on the Help button at the top of the screen and select DesignPro Help.

Select the template that you wish to format by starting a new project and format the labels by adding in text and graphics to meet the needs of your project. For additional assistance use the User Guide available through the Help menu. Also, here is a software demo of Avery DesignPro for MAC http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/De....

merging an IWork database into Design Pro for Mac

I have created an address database with Numbers...have saved it both on my desktop and Templates...have opened Design Pro, selected label, blank, and mail merge. (Have received screen with the label and text) Then I went to browse. There is the problem. My data is greyed out. What am I doing wrong, and how can I bring it up to merge? Thank you

First DesignPro does not merge from a Numbers database. It does import from a .CSV file which you can create from a Numbers database by selecting File - Export - CSV of your Numbers database. DesignPro will be looking for the first row of your database to name the field that the column represents. Once you have created this CSV file you can to to DesignPro.
Create your label or card or sticker leaving the merge fields for last. When everything is perfect select the Text icon at the top of DesignPro, format the text field with the type size and color you wish to use and position it on the page. With the text field still selected choose Mail Merge from the top of the page. This will open the Select Data Source panel. Select Browse. Find the CSV file you created earlier and highlight it and choose Select. This will open the Select Data Fields panel. On the left side of the panel will be the data field names that you had as the first row in your database. Format the the merge fields by selecting the field name and clicking insert. Do this for all desired fields formatting with spaces and new lines as appropriate. Next click Data View to see the resulting data. After choosing the records you wish to print chose Merge to complete the merge.

If you continue to have problems, we recommend using the mail merge feature available through Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. You can open your DesignPro files using this online software. Just use the "Open Project" link when you sign in. This online software takes you step by step through the process of selecting a template, using the 'mail merge' function to import your data, customizing your design and then printing. Your projects can then be saved either online to your MyAvery account or directly to your computer. Here is a link with additional information on this online software and instructions on how to use the mail merge feature: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/De....

If you downloaded and installed the Avery DesignPro for Mac software from www.avery.com/mac, simply launch the software from your desktop and enter your product number to get started. You can also use the Avery Design & Print Online tool at www.avery.com/print to customize pre-designed templates for our products. There is no download required and the tool is compatible with Mac operating systems.

Well I see the question is very, very old but maybe this will help someone considering DesignPro. On a Mac look to the very top of the screen in the toolbar. You should see DesignPro in the upper left corner. Next to that is the "File" choice. You can choose "Save" or "SaveAs" and then name your project. It may save to your "document" folder, mine does. Then back up under file you will see "Print". While the "save" and "print" buttons are not on the program itself, they are up in the toolbar. For someone who isn't familiar with Mac it could be hard to figure out. Hope this helps.
