1) Hover your pointer in the upper-left part of the page until you see the square with four arrows. The arrows will be pointing N, S, E, & W.
2) Right-click on the square and select Table Properties from the menu.
3) In the Table tab, click the "Borders and Shading" button.
4) In the left column, click the "All" setting.
5) Click 'Ok' and 'Ok' to get back to your page.

This will make the boxes visible. After you've created your labels repeat the steps (this time selecting "None" for step 4) to turn off the grid.

When the template is opened in Word, if you have the top & side rulers turned on you can see the margins of the columns across the top & those of the rows down the left side. If that's not enough for you visually, use Word's line-drawing capability to draw linesin the vertical & horizontal gutters. Or insert rectangular shapes filling the gutters, then delete them before printing.

Most likely this is a problem with the settings on your computer. While in your Word template, try going to "Layout" and make sure "View Gridlines" is selected.
