How do you determine the difference between the Avery card making product numbers?

In my "Print Artist Platinum 23" card software program, there are many choices of Avery numbered card templates and some generic templates. When I researched the differences between the Avery template numbers on your web site, most of the numbers were listed as compatable. Yet How can I determine the differences between the templates? Why so many interchangable numbers? It is very confusing and impossible to determine which template to use. Can you please shed light on this problem?. Ex.3251,3254,3265,3269,3297,3378,3375,3378,53210,8316

The different product numbers refer to differences like; quantity in a pack or type of finish (matte, glossy, etc), or anything else that sets them apart. The templates are interchangeable because the actual product measurements are the same.
