You can take a piece of cardboard, large enough to fill out the space where the transfer will go, put it inside the shirt and iron your transfer on the back. I usually use my kitchen counter to iron my transfer on.

Use a wooden cutting board, put the cutting board inside a cotton pillow case and run heated dry iron to smooth out wrinkles and put cutting board now covered with pillow case inside of the t-shirt and proceed as normal. The cutting board will keep the heat from transferring to the other side of the shirt protecting the design on the other side. I've bought t-shirts at the store with a design on the front and used this technique to put the name of my rock band on the back, thus making one of a kind custom band shirts with different designs on the front..

Question

Does the paper has an expiration date?

I bought a pack of paper today and it has 03/12/10 JZ 09:57 EQ401 printed on the pack. If that is an expiration date, the paper is expired.

Yes you can but as with anything else it's all trial & error with the heat press settings. I find myself using 350 at 20 seconds on the dark transfers and longer on the lights. it all depends on your heat press. Use one sheet for testing as i do and test I print out about 10 to 20 sections then i test on a piece of scrap material till i find the right setting for my needs. Good luck.

Question

Light Transfer on Dark Fabric?

If i wanted to transfer some colored letters onto a black shirt - would the light transfers work? Since I don't want anything (including white) to show up between the letters, seems that I would want the clear background found on the light colored transfers... no?

Putting anything light on dark fabric is very, very difficult. Even with printing - most successes come from printing in heavy paint, and several coats to get a true white or light color. It makes it stiff and doesn't always hold up well. That's why most shirts are printed dark on light.

If you want to transfer image to a black t shirt, you should be using the dark transfer sheets. To avoid residue from being transferred to the t shirts trim around the letters and iron on the letters individually. Please use the instructions that came with the packaging to ensure positive results. Here is a link to those same instructions http://www.avery.com/vgnfiles/OP/en....

Avery transfer sheets are only compatible with inkjet printers. This product is not compatible with laser printers. The transfer sheets can not stand the heat generated by laser printers.

Question

Is this product appropriate for very small, finely-detailed images?

I have a very small (about 20mm x 20 mm) image of a rainbow that I want to transfer onto cotton poly material. The stripes in the rainbow are only about 1 mm thick and there are several stripes. Would this product work for something this small and detailed?

Unfortunately, with any fabric product, the pictures will fade. It's extemely difficult to keep a bright color with a photograph to begin with, but when it's transferred, it simply becomes more susceptible to fading. Sorry!

Question

I made a mistake. How do I take off a incorrect image?

I forgot to reverse the images and words prior to ironing. So once I ironed everything on, I saw everything was backwards. How can I take the images off so the shirt is not ruined?
