Question

I want to use Magnet sheets for name tags on outside board. Is there any thing I can do to make them water resistant?

Sometimes it rains a bit before we get them off the board.

Avery® Magnet Sheets are not intended to be used outdoors. Laminating the front with Avery® Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets, #73603 may help in protecting the magnet sheets.

What is the thickness of the magnet?

I am looking for the nominal thickness of the magnet sheet; I have checked the packaging and additional information on the website, but have been unable to find a specification sheet.

I measured the product and the paper + magnetic appear to be 1/50" or .02 inches. By site the magnet appears to be 1/2 of that thickness, .01 or 1/100 of an inch. If you are trying to estimate strength of this product to adhere, it will hold itself to a ferrous metal surface, but not much more.

You need to load one sheet at a time and help it along with your hands at initial load. That worked for me.

How well do they stick? How Sturdy are they?

I would like to use these on some HO scale model trains to make removable signs. For example, it might say "Philadelphia local" one way, and then swap the signs for it to say "Lindenwold" local the other way.

If i mount strong magnets on the inside of the plastic body, will this paper hold under reasonable conditions? Will it be sturdy enough for me to use over and over again?
