Both templates make great recipe cards. The 3381 has 4 postcards per sheet, and the 5389 only has two, so the templates are not the same. Use the product number that's on the Avery package you have.

If Avery 8387 is not in the product list included in Publisher, you can download a Publisher template for 8387 at www.office.microsoft.com. They also have tons of tips in their Help and How-to section.

First, choose a border you want to insert and save it to a place you remember on your computer (free images are available at www.office.microsoft.com). Then insert by choosing Insert then Picture and browse to find the file. Next, to make it easier to move the image around, in Picture Tools, choose Text Wrapping and click on In front of Text. Then you can click and drag the image to the position you want. When you get it into the right spot, right-click on the image and choose Send to Back so your text won't be blocked by the image.

Because of your printer's margins, you won't be able to print to the edge on the 4 per sheet postcards. You can print to the edge with our 2 per sheet postcards, Avery 8386 is the product for ink jet printing.

The size of the individual postcards depends on the Avery product you are using. If you are using an Avery product with 4 postcards per sheet, the individual card size is 4"x6". If you are using an Avery product with 2 postcards per sheet, the individual card size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Question

What steps do I take to print on the other side of the postcard?

We wiould like to send Birthday Greetings to our customers at the insurance company. However, I cannot print the address on the other side. I have four cards to a sheet. I have different names on the greeting side of the card. Also, how do I match the name up so that the name and address will be on the side of the name I am sending it to?

The best way to print multiple addresses for postcards is to do a mail merge onto Avery address labels and then place the labels onto the postcard. The Avery Wizard software for Microsoft Word makes mail merge projects easy. Download and install the software for free at www.avery.com/wizard. Launch the Wizard in Microsoft Word and follow the guide to do a mail merge project onto a label template - try using template 8160.
