Questions & Answers for AVERY T-Shirt Transfer

Question

Does the transfer place a clear background in the unprinted areas?

I have used previous transfers, and wherever there was nothing printed, there was a clear area wherever there was no printing, for example between letters of a name, or between 2 pictures. Does the avery transfer do this?

If you look at the product - what you are printing onto to do the transfer to the tshirt, you will see that it is one large kind of label, so there is clear product when you iron that onto a shirt or whatever you are making. I try to cut closely around my design to minimize the amount of extra around the design, but i've found that for me, it didn't work so well to try to cut very close or to cut inside the general outline of the design (like between letters).

The non printed area will be transferred to the t shirts and will be visible. We recommend cutting around the printed images to avoid from the unprinted area being transferred to the t shirt.

My only thought would be that you didn't apply the required pressure. Was your ironing surface low enough that you could really lean on your shirt?

If you use Avery Design & Print Online at www.avery.com/print the program will flip automatically for your light t-shirt transfers.

If you use a Word template, you'll need to use your ink jet printer settings to flip the design. When you click on print, look through the dialog box for mirror image, or click on the Help link for your printer.

Question

Creating larger designs

You can create larger designs by piecing together parts to iron on. Once ironed on your garment, there is little or no evidence that it has been pieced. I love this product and use all the time. My only complaint is the cost of inkjet cartridges used offsets the savings. Will this ever be updated to be used on lazer jet printers?

Mirror or reverse image can be printed by changing the settings on the printer. For additional information please refer to your printer user guide or printer manufacturer. We also recommend using Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. This online software takes you step by step through the process of selecting a template, customizing it, including automatically flipping the image or text for printing and then printing out your finished project. There is no download required and projects can be saved either online to your MyAvery account or directly to your computer. Here is a link to view the software demo: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/De....

There is no need to change the printer paper settings when printing the transfer sheets. If you are printing something with a lot of color you may want to consider changing the paper type to high resolution or specialty paper. The print quality also depends on the resolution of the printer. You may want to contact the printer manufacturer to see if they recommend a specific setting for optimum print results.
