Questions & Answers for AVERY Shipping Label, 4 per sheet - Wide

Question

shipping labels

Hi, I'm using the landscape download for the 5168 label. I want to make a top section with the return address and a dividing line separating the bottom 2/3 of the label for the "TO" portion. When I open the template, it only allows me to type in the middle of the label, not at the top. How do I fix this?

The labels are actually cells in a table. Right click on a label and choose "cell alignment" (using Word 2003), then select a different alignment so the text isn't centered as the default has it. Then you can use paragraph alignments, centering, etc. Normally in Word, if you enter a dozen hyphens and press return, it will automatically create a horizontal line for you that you can move up and down like a line of text, letting you put your info above and the mail-to address below.

The easiest thing to do is to use Avery Design & Print Online at www.avery.com/print. There are many pre-designs included, so there might be one that is exactly what you're looking for, or you can easily make changes to the format easily and apply them to all the labels.

You can either use Avery DesignPro or the Avery Wizard to add a bar code. Choose which program you want to download (for free) at www.avery.com/software. After installing, open the program and click on the Help link and search on Bar Code for instructions.

Avery suggests going to www.avery.com/templates and enter your product number in the Search area on the left side. The search results will list a Landscape orientation template for this product number.

For best results, we recommend trying Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. This takes you step by step through the process of selecting a template, customizing it, printing out your final project and then saving it. Projects can be saved online to your MyAvery account or directly to your computer. When designing your label, text can be added by inserting a text box or simply typing directly into the template. For a more customized look, graphics, photos and logos can be added to your label project by selecting the 'From My Computer' or 'From Avery Gallery' options. If you are not familiar with the software here is the link to the software demo: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/De.... This design software does not require any downloads.

The Majority of the time alignment issues can be resolved by changing the printer settings. Depending on your printer, you may need to change the printer settings to label or something similar to accommodate the label sheets. For additional information regarding changing the printer settings please see your printer user guide or contact your printer manufacturer. Also, if you are using Avery design software you may need to calibrate your printer with the software and perform a print test. For additional printing tips please see the Avery Help Center at www.Avery.com/HelpCenter. Also, try Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. This design software does not require any downloads.
