Any word template on the Avery site can be converted It is simple but looks complicated because I did this step by step:
1. download the templates- Download it to a folder where you can find it. If you are not sure where it automatically downloads then you can choose by: Click the download button. When your browser asks to save or open it, click Cancel. A pop-up with instructions has also come up. The first or second line of that says 'if your download doesn't start click here'. Right click on that and select 'save link as'. Choose the folder where you want to save these (I created new folder and used: documents/averytemp.) Repeat this save for any of the templates you may want. They will all be converted later.
2. Open openoffice
3. click: File -> Wizards -> Document converter
4. In the window that pops up choose the buttons for Microsoft office and Word Documents. Click next.
5. It will ask where to import files, If they are in your documents folders, including subfolders, (remember I saved mine to: documents\averytemp) leave the import from sections alone, it will convert and save them. Look at the document section. There is an area that says 'save to' then a white box with a location something like: (c:/users/mine/documents). So I can find them later I added /avery at the end (C:\Users\mine\Documents\avery). It will say no such folder exists. Click to let the computer create it.
6 Click next
7. POOF all of them get converted
8. Find them: Any that are really a word template file will be available in: File -> New -> Templates. However, most of the word templates on this site seem to actually be documents. Therefore you can find them in your documents directory. Just look under: File-> Open Then in documents look for the avery folder we made in step 5.
Tip: TO keep me from making too many stupid mistakes I will often open the document file then Save as a template, then close the file. This creates a true template that I can't mess up.

In the top left corner of open office click File then New. The menu that opens has a selection at the bottom that says Templates and documents. Click that. Near the bottom of the new window is a blue link that says Get more templates online... If you type Avery in the search box you will get at least 12 template designs that are compatible with Avery products. There are others if you look around and do some trial and error formatting.

Use the Microsoft Word formatting tools to insert your clipart. Select the art and the shift key and drag your mouse to decrease or increase the size of the image in your business card. Don't forget to change the Text Wrapping of the image to "In Front of Text".

Once the clipart has been imported, click on it with your mouse to select it. Once selected, there will be a rectangle around it with dots or marks designating the corners and also marks in the center, both horozontally and vertically. To resize proportionally, which usually looks the best, touch on a corner dot and while holding down the left mouse key, drag the drawing in or out, depending on whether you wish to make the clipart smaller or larger to fit. It can be resized from the horozontal and vertical marks also, but this usually looks strange as it distorts the art from its original proportional size.

To resize clip art you need to click inside the picture until the frame appears on the outside of the picture. On the right corner grab the handle with your mouse, hold down your CTRL key and pull towards the top left corner. (Holding down your CTRL key helps from disfiguring the picture.) Oftentimes the picture will place itself where it wants. To allow flexibility on where you want it placed -- right click within the picture and go to format picture and click on square and say OK. Some software works differently so you may need to choose tight in the format picture option. However, play with it until you can use your mouse to place the picture at the point you desire and release.

Hi,

Depending on your use and demand for these lables you could check out a flat print OKI dot matrix printer. Sometimes the labels can become loose if they are fed into several rollers and stick as a result.

Some regular printers also have an option to use an auxillary paper feed other than the paper tray. Sometimes this feed can be more direct (i.e. less rollers) which may also solve the issue

In relation to your original question, I cannot see anything on the Avery template section for 5414 labels. I would recommend you use MS Word to create a basic template. If you manage to get one that works why not upload it here and share.

Regards,
Martin

These labels are not printer compatible as they are very small. They will just jam in your printer if you try to feed them. Better handwrite your stuff instead.

After inserting the image, format the text wrapping to 'Through'. This will allow you to move the graphic to a desired location within the template. For best results we recommend using Avery Design & Print Online at www.Avery.com/Print. Format and design one label or card and apply the design to the rest of the page through the Sheet Navigator. If you are not familiar with the software here is the link to the software demo http://www.avery.com/avery/en_US/De....

I have a couple of ideas. 1) Shrink the graphics and put it on one end and then put your text on. 2) Use your graphics as the background and put your text over it.

Depending on what software program you are using. If you are using MS Publisher, Set-up your address label using the "wizard" or just "start from scratch." You will need to create a text box for your address. Make sure to align it the way you wish with the correct font. Next go to "Insert" and select "insert a pciture." The pciture can be from the gallery or one of your own. Once you have inserted the picture, right click on it to make the text fit "tight" to it. You can move the picture and text around if you wish and even send the picture in back of the words. If you are using MS Word, most of this still applies as well, you will just need to use either AVERY templates or create your own.

First, choose the photo you want to insert and save it to a place you remember on your computer. Next, to insert, choose Insert then Picture and browse to find the file. Then, to make it easier to move the image around, in Picture Tools, choose Text Wrapping and click on In front of Text. Then you can click and drag the image to the position you want. Look in our Help section if you want to learn more about formatting

Went through several passes on our Dell 740s until I found a workable solution.
1. Updated BIOS and system drivers.
2. Ran Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall and remove all registry and file references to DesignPro.
3. Installed in Administrators mode.

Worked for me but user still got errors. When I sat with him, I noticed that the first thing he did was maximize the window. Verified on multiple systems that had the problem that as long as the window is not maximized program runs clean. So:...

4. Do not run in a maximized window.

To create a sheet of the same labels select 'Create a sheet of identical layouts' when using Avery Wizard and select 'Full page of same label' when using the Word templates. If using Design & Print Online, select the 'Apply All' option from the Sheet Navigator on the right hand side. Changes to individual cards or whole sheet can be made after creating the initial label.

Avery templates are compatible with Windows. The downloadable templates are compatible with all versions of MS Word. Formatting and printing individual or multiple cards can be done by using the downloadable templates at www.Avery.com/Templates and Avery design software at www.Avery.com/Software. When using the Word templates, select "Single label" option and format the desired amount of cards. In Avery Wizard, after selecting the template and orientation, choose 'Type many different entries on a sheet'. If on Avery Design & Print Online format the needed number of cards by selecting the card through the Sheet Navigator. Reminder, if you select a pre-designed template, delete the formatting on unused cards.
